Purification of target molecules from post reaction streams is a common problem. Large molecules, such as dimers/trimers or colour bodies may need to be separated from a lower molecular weight API; alternatively smaller molecules, such as unreacted reaction reagents or reaction by-products, may need to be
separated from an API of higher molecular weight.

MET’s product purification technology employs Organic Solvent Nanofiltration (OSN) to provide efficient, rapid, and economical purifications. MET’s product purification technology achieves up to 99% isolation of the target molecule, in less time, and without the significant cost, or yield penalties, associated with chromatography.

  • Separations of monomers and dimer / trimer by-products are commonly achieved by chromatographic methods but at a significant yield and cost penalty
  • OSN offers a much more efficient separation pathway resulting in a faster throughput, better scalability, and with a lower yield penalty.
  • Example: Using STARMEM™ 120 at 60 bar, a permeate stream with 99.2 % monomer purity was obtained, with 90.8 % yield recovery of monomer fed to the system
